3 From 5 at my usual Saturday haunt

5 band gig featuring bands. I saw three of 'em

First band I saw was Post Ruckus. They have a chick on lead vox and on l. guitar. Bass and drums make up the 4-piece. Very good - and understated - work by lead guitar. There's talent there, but the sound guy did not have her turned up enough. Good band to watch, but I was behind ppl (including Chasing Jayme) and didn't get the best look or photos. Got a (hopefully) good video. Edit: nahh, light saturation gave vocalist 'glow-head' look. It's not super horrible, but it's a long way from my best. Like to see again, hopefully with less covers. ;-D

Second band was Headspin. Love 'em. Straight in to the top five list. Why? soaring guitar. Bass, rhythm (+vox) and lead, backed by drums. Yup, tha's how you make rocknroll. Kilt-wearing lead knows how to play. Bought him a beer after. He thought the band was supposed to buy drinks for fans??? Cover of Hendrix fire was showcasing talent, not being a cover (as in, it didn't seem like they were doing it coz they had no other songs, but coz they were showing they could do it), and was well done. Will see again. They play at the Indy, usually.

Dugite finished the show. Almost seem a different band to when they played the Milk Bar. A better set imho, less covers. I'm intrigued enough to check out again, the guitar is good, they are tight and they get a bunch of stuff right. Only a 4-piece tonight - I think there were 5 at the Milk Bar. Like the lead guitar work - including occasional finger-picking. Got a video (She's Bringing Me Down?) that isn't too bad.
