AC🗲DC Rocks Perth!
Went to the gig with my brother and his missus. Not having quite my dedication, they went to work(!) during the day. I took the day off and bribed my boss with donuts to do an extra half hour to cover my late shift. (Oh, the look I did get. But i bought enough that he could take some home to the fam, so i got away with it. 😁) TBF, he recognises the greatness of the band.
Saw the end of the Southern River Band set. Good to see someone has picked up on the coolest/only cool suburb name in Gozzy, and it's great to have at least a couple of the current cream of WA rock come from the local area (The Omaha Court being the others I know about). Would like to have seen their whole set. Will see again - rocking good stuff.
Amyl and the Sniffers recently went right up the kudos charts in my book. After a few hundred morons - who had broken through security lines, overcrowding and endangering families with children already in the audience - caused the event to be shut down, they announced they were splitting their $35k appearance fee between 7 Melbourne pubs giving them five grand each so fans could 'have a drink on them' (in honour of their current support slot). They essentially turned a shit-show - thanks to aussie derros - into an event that will be remembered for years, if not decades.
Oh, and they rock! Lead vox is not at all ashamed to be right there in your face, and if you don't like it, fuck off. Lyrics are not for the faint-hearted
Rock gods AC🗲DC took to the stage shortly after 8.30 and reigned supreme for the next 2+ hours. Everything (except 'A long way to the top', in honour of Bon) in the catalogue and they even managed to squeeze in one or two from their new - coz they just keep doing this rock 'n' roll stuff - album released in time for the tour (and of course, Christmas 😁).
