Blush - and Fingers - for Boxing Day

Got there in time for band 1 for the second gig in a row! Yay me. Then f'd up the entire videoing. Sour grapes, but it was at the Indi so it could've been worse iykwim. Also, notes have improved (slightly) - that's a good thing.

Maple were first on the bill. More pop/rock, and a bit less funk than last time I saw em. Still fun to dance to and good music to listen to. Didn't go hard on photos or vids, it doesn't quite seem that sort of night. I'm just a punter it seems. 😀

Next were Vacate Palace. I think I've mentioned liking these guys. They know how to solo, they're all multi-instrumentalists, they share vox, they enjoy interacting with the crowd. I will have to watch out for then - and look at Bandcamp. Very fun gig - called themselves Fingers, and were doing covers of Vacate Palace songs 🤣

EDIE - (ft Holly on Bass). Took me a minute to recognise her from back in October 2024 when I last saw her. Edie has matured and is more confident than back then, is honing her craft nicely.

Blush! So disappointed in my videos. It was a really good Blush! set and the video I took of their coming single looks pretty cool. It doesn't sound that way, but.

Fingers! There was an auction, and elves (Vacate Palace in Christmas-themed boxer shorts, iirc), and Holly was Mrs Claus - which is kinda appropriate when you think about it. Also lots of Fingers doing rock their way.

Gifting myself a pass on tonight's video effort (though I really should put some static images up, at least). Such a good show that I'm happy to just be a punter, not a reviewer. It's Christmas!
