Blushfest!

mcT'd Gloss. sigh. not getting any better at this, am i? Also videos, ugh. Actually decent quality, but ruined by exposure settings. Took me three months to get something useful out of the originals. (Must remember: it's 'character building'.)

A band that knows how to rock and have a good time doing it are Navy June. Lead vox delivers enthusiastically, guitar riffs are on point - and they cut loose occasionally - plus tight work by the rhythm section. They've got stage presence and crowd work covered, too. May have to investigate further, will see again.

I think the song's called Guilty.

I haven't seen The Points before. Lead guitar is Anabel from Foothead. Driving force Ryder - channeling a happier Sid Vicious - rips out the songs whilst displaying the nights' temporary tattoos. High energy band, <2min, blink-and-you-miss-em, songs are not uncommon. But the rock is tight. It's so fast but it holds together. They know what they're doing, and very much look like they're enjoying themselves. An official video exists for Taste of Defeat on youtube that is definitely worth a watch. Will see again.

Blush! Cracking show. Absolutely riding the wave tonight, they took the Clancy's cloud on a Blush! journey and everyone was on board. Embarrassed for You is such a good single, and just gets better when you understand they're not singing about other people. Then you start thinking and realise the song is actually quite deep once you know where it's come from. They've got a set full of crowd favourites (the punters sing along to everything), the bandness (band unity? togetherness? i dunno) just gets stronger and stronger. I do hope this brave new interconnected world means they can keep a homebase in WA for a while. Will see again (and again 🤣). One day might even take a good video.

I should know the name of all Blush!'s songs by now.
