Chasing Jayme @ Clancy's

May 17, 2025

I appear to have jumped on the Chasing Jayme bandwagon. Saturday night, Clancy's, Chasing Jayme. Wouldn't be dead for quids!

First band were Kooklamu. Caught most of the set - timing is getting better. Caught the mushroom song, Greenstone, another one I recognised from Bandcamp. Set was much less folksy and more rocky than their recorded stuff, had guitar solos! Happy mcalex. Will see again and buy Bandcamp - they're fun, melodic and it's thinking rock - a lot of words get packed into those verses.

Managold were the second band. Seem to be more cohesive than last time, was a really good band set. Caught one of their newer songs, but might have messed up the 'crowd segue'. Also said hello to Kooklamu's lead vocalist mid (Managold) set. Nice chat.

Just Jupiter are solid, standard rock. This is a good thing. Chicks on vocals, and drums. Guitar! I did like the solos and soaring work, but there definitely could be more. Tried to get some individual videos - sorta worked. I don't know why my notes are sparse - I did say hello to Managold's keys player between sets when I should have been writing.

Chasing Jayme. Crowd had totally thinned by now - so hardly anyone saw the best set. Silly Perth. Caught new song on video and it's not bad (the video. The song is fkn awesome!). Bought the EP (again :-D)
