Chasing Jayme in the Fast Lane
Totally true to form, I have managed to walk in as band #1 - The Omaha Court - were finishing up. Oh well, three full sets 🤘
Titus are the second band of the gig. Seen 'em a couple times. I think they do a Ozzy Osborne/Sabbath cover. Not tonight but. 😁 Pretty sure they were all originals. Good stuff too. Band are getting comfortable in what they do. Lead g is enjoying the solos more, rhythm is partying while he plays, bass rocking through the set and drummer kicking back like mad when he's riffing. Really enjoyed this Tritus. 😄 Will see again.
Uranium Dog are a 5 piece, with keys, 5 string bass, manic lead guitar, chick vox plus drums. And they rock! Except for the slow song, which rolled. Really like this band, thought they were jazz-rock when they started. (Not jazz, jazzy - it was dischordant and funky.) Will look out for, coz I want to know more. Lead vox sounds like about yesterday vox.
Chasing Jayme - string break in the warm-up. Panic stations until lead vox/g from Tritus steps in with his 'Flying V' beauty. Jon is impressed and the show goes on! Massive kudos to Dan from Tritus.
And the set was awesome. All the hits - Done Me Wrong, Follow You, Have Love, Will Travel, plus a bunch of new material I don't know and of course, Fast Lane. I think I recorded most of the Vox EP and a couple new album songs. I also knocked my drink over - dickhead - just as they started Fast Lane. Lucky I already have that one 😁 (twice, I think). Said hello to Jon, talked about bandana merch 😁 and album release times (maaaaybe end of year, more likely beginning of '26) and the possibility of vinyl ($1k / 50 units?????).
What a gig. What a night. An awesome launch. Can't wait for the album.
Perth Rocks!
