Easter Saturday - Milk Bar
Saw the full set of Managold (what does that mean?) 6 piece with chicks on vocals, keys, drums; three guitars. Rocked good. Guitar was going off, keys were upfront when needed and carrying the melody along when not. Stetson on guitarist, plus a cap (on bass). Coz hats are important! 😀 Took a video will see what it looks like tomorrow. Now to insta, coz I'm that sort of social beastie.

Third band on the list - my second - were Dugite, lol not the Dugites from the 80s. Rocked good, but I was trapped at the bar coz of a Karen and missed three songs - gawd she only ordered two drinks. What I heard I liked, but there were were too many covers for me - and one was an Elvis song. Not sure if 'a little more action' is a better choice to cover than EWTRTW (see Thurs). This was redeemed somewhat by Jimi's Fire. Videoed one of their older songs that finished the set - includes band intro. 😄

Chasing Jayme. Two piece - hard, fast, love it. Will see again. Stevie ray Vaughn influences. Proving you can rock with only a guitarist and drummer. (Of course Matt Taylor rocks tomorrow night all by himself - but that's Matt Taylor.) My new favourite duo. Cover of Have love - will travel by Richard Berry. Band peeps, if you are going to do a cover: this is the way. Get something good, but not known by everybody, and stamp your own influence on it.

The last band of the night - Better Late. They let me photo the setlist. 😀 Hard fast, unexpected start ... they rock! Chick vocalist goes hard - dropped into the crowd for a quick dance with friends mid-song. They got attitude 'Thank fuck he met her' (possibly just called 'Fuck!', I'm not sure if the title on the setlist is due to the printer ink running out 😁) closing the set. Good band, glad I've seen 'em finally and worth watching. Would see again. I like it hard & fast.

Great night. The only disappointment was having to drink pepsi for the spacer. Hey Milk Bar: Why isn't Coke on tap?
