Female Frontend Frenzy

Female Frontend Frenzy (yes the gig was really called that) featured Trevalene (Dashley's lead), Underlyers and PMX (Paige McNaught Experience)

So, of course, I get there just in time to see them setting up for the second set. Can't even complain about parking as i got a spot just across the road. Will have to look for Trevalene in future - the bio looks interesting - but missed out tonight. The fish pub is a good little spot for smaller crowd gigs. Not as much space as the Milk Bar and probably smaller even than Old Habits, just nicely cosy.

Underlyers

Anyoo, Underlyers rocked. Not quite enough guitar solos for my liking, but a great crowd vibe. It seems they were known to a few (at least) of the punters, given the happy birthday calls from the crowd, which were quickly shut down 😀. 'You're still mine', 'I wonder what he'll do to me' and 'Sweet as' which closed the set were my fave picks.

PMX

Played Hummingbirds 'Blush' which was cool. Could also use more guitar solos, but were more rock less country tinged than Underlyers so I liked that. Played a lot of new album stuff (obvs). I recognised 'Parachute' - I was listening for it - and a couple of the other destined for singledom songs. Would go again because crowd work - Paige likes to talk to her audience - and in-band banter made for a really good (if shortish) night.

Bought the album on vinyl (ofc).
