Caveat - Freed from the Aviary - Scarborough warning!
Caught the last song from the first band. Given the distance, and that I worked till 5.30pm, I'm a li'l bit impressed with myself.
Sun After Dusk they were. I saw them at the Playlunch gig earlier this year. Drums could be louder. yeah, and mcalex could be earlier.
Teenage Vertigo were next. I'm sure I know this band name, but they seemed like they were a new-ish (though fairly professional) 6 piece band. Four guys on guitars, chicks on drums and vocals. Vocalist knows how to play to the crowd. Camera located at around 1.00 in the second video. Fast, but also melodic. I like. Will see again.
Devon Street. Four guitars (one acoustic) and drums. Had a bit of a Radiohead vibe, but that could be just me. Rocking good set. A bit of sonic soaring sound from lead (could definitely use more). Did a cover of Sweet Disposition which actually worked. (But where's the synth?) Took a couple vids and chatted with lead singer Asher after the set. Possibly new faves - will look out for.
Headliners Free Aviary came out to a room quite full of punters ready to party and dance and rock 'n' roll with the band. They got it in spades. The group were really happy with the crowd vibe and it showed with their playing and the crowd in turn were really happy with the band vibe and it just fed off each other. Recorded most of the set, I think, including a 1GB double song. Turned out I recorded five songs. Caveat went up immediately. It needed to be out there (as if anyone is looking at my page, lol).
