Freo Mid-Winter Music Fest @ Mojo's

Anyhoo, got to see the full (short) Surf Shop Cops set. They are rockers who like to engage with the punters. Set started with a poem, no, an ode to RTR FM. Played crowd fav; All my friends (play in shitty bands). Got video of their new single Wrd EnrG, or something, not PC, lol. Quite an interesting trio and the rock is good. Will see again.

The second band for me Georga Raath. Multi instrumentalist, producer, mixer. Chick can do it all, so there. Apologised for music about relationships, and emotional content. Sorry, what? This is RnR's bread and butter. The emotions aren't just yours Don't apologise for feeling enough, and being clever enough to make music out of 'em instead of just wallowing in the pain like the rest of us. 'Hard to Love' is the single and is brilliant! Dancers (I use the term loosely) appeared for the last song - took video as I guess it will be a nice memento if I ever get this content online. Bought stuff on bandcamp! Will see again. Re-listening to 'Hard to Love' later - Georga sounds a chunk like Clair Birchall :-D

The night finished with figurehead. Guess what? I'm a fan. They are so good at getting a crowd going. Video'd the we all in it together (I will have to find out the correct title) song - finally. Really good night.

Glad I finally decided to get my arse out of the house on this cold, wet, winter night! 😁 (For future me; I ummed and ahh'd for over 30 minutes and nearly said 'nahh, bugg'rit' twice.)
