From ridiculous to sublime

Two new blossoms in the garden caught my eye on the same day ...

After five years* of nurturing bananas plants through Perth rain, hail and wind in winter and their never-ending water needs in summer, I finally managed to harvest some bananas over the 2023/24 summer. (Gardening notes: Bananas (Musa acuminata) are an annual tropical herb that can take up to two years to mature in colder climates like Perth.) Bananas are well known for blossoming in early summer and becoming ready for harvest by late summer/very early autumn. This pod and another one on a different plant, both appeared in late winter - after 4-5 years. Stuff grows weird at my place.

On the same day, a camellia showed her pretty face.
