I'm gonna get some Patience if it's the last thing i do!
I saw Queen Qoral at Full Send. Still bemused by that evening. But my notes have 'will see again', so they've been on my list for a bit. They're a three piece with an energetic bass & drum section, and prog-pych-surf rock lead guitar. I like. But for some reason I didn't get a full song video? Did have a good chat with the bass-man who has his own smoke machine! Glad I saw 'em, will see again.
The second (third, mcT) band of the night were About Yesterday. Ye olde rock trio with chick on vocals/bass, plus guitar and a pounder on skins. She has a voice! Got a half decent video of a pretty good song (Cry Myself to Sleep?). I like the guitar sound and her vocals are solid. Worth watching out for - will see again. Why were the mics so far apart?
So, after About Yesterday, I wandered up the guys from All My Nights (I think I was going to mention the distance between mic stands and how difficult it had been to get the whole band in shot). They said they hoped I was able to record a good video as they knew about my previous effort. Wait, what? Are other people reading this blog? But more importantly, after all the build up, did I get the video? Well, yes, but the focus is crap, it's all smoky and it's not near my best effort. Looks like I'm just going to have to force myself to go along to another All My Nights set in the near future. Oh, woe is me! :-D At least the other video (for 'Take Me Home' I think) isn't too bad. And the set - well, I like going to see All My Nights for more than just one song. Love an extended instrumental intro, love good guitar riffs, love the pounding drums in the crescendos, and (I've said this before) just love that voice. 🤩 Will see again.
Patience!
