I'm not at a Volcanics gig

Kicked off with Almost Sunday, which is ironic coz they were first on the lineup not last, at which point it would actually have been almost Sunday (haha). I got there with one song to go, was singing along by the second chorus would have got a video, but they packed up and left just as my first beer was served. Liked what I heard, will see again, and not just in order to see the first time. :-D

Jinan (not Divan) was next up. Rocking, but not quite fast enough for me (I've been saying this a bit lately). But good. Guitar, keys, bass and drums, so pop-rock, I guess. Perth based Maori on lyrics - which were fun (you bring the drink, I bring the smoke) and brought a smile to keys face when he was singing it. Will see again. Spoke to keys after set, good chat. He's leaving soon - a tourist doing session muso-ing as he travels - what a gig! He's in another band too. It appears keyboard players are hard to come by in Perth.

Jeeper were third on the list. Very popular band. Know all about crowdwork, and have a fanclub (of tall people mostly, it seems :-D). They have a bunch of YT content ... so I video'd a song anyway. A lot of energy. Guitar went shirtless to (mainly male) applause a couple songs in. Bass in a bucket hat (coz I know these things), OMG. Got a couple of attempt videos of his solos (but by the time you hear them, it's a bit late to record them) some of the finest work I've seen. Would see again, they are a party band who know how to have fun and how to make it fun for the crowd. A teasing end - they really looked like they were going to play 'one more song', but then all of a sudden started packing up.

There was another group. Interflow. I don't remember a thing about them, and I have no notes, just two videos. I do remember wondering if they were the last band and wandered over to the gig entrance to check. Anyhoo: here's Interflow.

Show was wrapped up by Dial Emma. As revealed by ticket domme (and totally unnoticed by me), this is dilemma. As revealed by the video, the crowd seem to know this.

As also revealed, the guy operating the camera should shut the heck up. :-D
