Older Rockers in newer bands at Lynott's

Aug. 15, 2025

Not one person in the bands I saw would have been under 30 - also, none of 'em are on instagram

Walked into last half of Beltane Fire - which is an awesome name - who are very hard to find on the socials. Hard. Loud. Guitar. (Also keys.) Bass in some kind of stovepipe(?) hat. Don't actually know what it's called (lol - after talking to, it's a red dot Halloween novelty). Like it. Would see again, but band needs a presence on the socials, not just lead singer/creative driver.

Band 2 (really 3 mcT) were Tubedriver. Guitar, guitar, (bass) guitar. Oh yeah. Suprise package of the night. They old (peeps), but they new (band) - apparently first gig -, and oh, they rock. I said to lead guitar 'get on insta'. Yeah, I said that. Will see again

Last band of the night was Ground Zero. More awesome guitar rock. These guys have a rhythm style that makes you want to groove - and lead vox appears to be channelling Bono. I couldn't help dancing even though not everybody else was.

Omg, none of the bands I saw have an Instagram. I saw an interview recently (on instagram - omg i've become one of them) where Malcolm from AC/DC said they and the Stones were the only band that rock AND roll. Ground Zero roll as well.

In fact the whole night was old skool cool. Guitar drenched, bass you could hear, drums that get melody.

Classic rock refugee heaven. Would experience again 😁
