Wednesday's Songwriters' Club
I was there for the first songster Daniel James, but, social butterfly that I am, spent a bunch of time having a chat with one of the artists before heading to the stage. Did manage to catch one clip toward the end of the set
Jade Rich was next. It's fun listening to a song that will be released a couple months down the track when you've first video'd it three months ago. Hopefully the video I took tonight works out ok. I have plans.
Third set of the night was Clay Brown. What to do when you're about to re-emerge (with band), but need a final, last-minute rehearsal/confidence booster. Head down to Mojo's songwriters' club night. To me, anyway, there was definitely a feeling of getting back on to the bike and gauging the new performance.
The night was finished by Carl Zollier. Poor guy is losing his partner to an eastern states opportunity. Said partner was videoing the whole performance - probably to help with closeness as well as content production - from the front row. The romantic in me hopes they get through this; the cynic, well, best left unsaid, methinks. Bright side? either way, there's songs in it.
