Victorian invasion - Press Club

July 20, 2025

Sunday night and I don't have work tomorrow. Thought I'd see what the Press Club noise was all about

No. Notes. At. All.

I remember it was a f*#^ing great night, and I came home with two vinyl additions to my collection.

Lonesome Dove appear to have metamorphosed from their public record into a much rockier outfit. This was a bloody good idea. Saw a couple songs, but only caught the last (insta) bit of their last song for posterity. Worth putting up - even though I normally keep the blog to full songs - to remind me: Will see again. Their record seems to document the change. Some songs are soft, some pull out the guitar like nobody's business. Did I say, will see again?

I've seen Ursula before at The Bird. They were sans a guitarist from that show. This meant there were only! three guitars on stage. Managed to get a bit of their stuff, including a 2GB clip with a 4.30 version of Hate (with that lyric). Hopefully I can turn down the saturation coz it's way up and everybody is red. Will see again. Those guitars.

Press Club. I called it an invasion. I have to admit they conquered Mojo's. Rocking hard for the whole set, diving into the crowd for a song and climbing the stage roof at the end for good measure. Yup, that's how the west was won (that night, anyway). Really, really good band, and if that's what they've got over east they're not doing too badly in the homegrown rock department either. Have a copy of their 'To All the Ones I Love' LP in blue splatter vinyl no less. Happy to see these guys again if they come back. Got a video with two songs (a mere 3.4GB).
