Going Under - Viperchain!

Sometime last week I picked up a new follower out of the blue - Viperchain. I've seen them a couple times and like them even though it's not quite my style of rock. Metalcore, I think it's called. So, anyway, I'm at Amplifier for the second time ever and currently tryna 'soak in' a heavy atmosphere. I ain't gonna beat it tonight so I might as well join it - headache be damned ('danced' says my PG rated mobile AI speller).

Got there in time to see Sandbroker packing up. Couldn't have got here earlier given the condition my head is in, but still a pity. Go away headache, I wanna have fun! 😁

Second band on the list were Belgravia. Rare that these guys aren't headliners. They know how to rock and it's just fucking good. (Ed: It really is! also, apologies for no swears warning.) Probably my favourite 'heavy' band. Not going quite as hard as they can - I don't think they wanted to steal any of Viperchain's thunder. Think I got a decent video. Was dancing like a 20-something ('cept they don't dance these days - sigh). Will see again.

Next up were Heaven // Alone. Vox treats the stage as a 'suggested base of operations' rather than where the singer is supposed to project from. A bit too frenetic + headache + me still trying to work out how to use my phonecam properly means I don't have a great recollection of them. This is also helped by lead vox from Belgravia popping over to say hello mid-set. I think he recognised my camera from last time I saw them at Lynott's. 😁

Viperchain. I've said things about rock with the word 'core' in it - generally things that are not massively complimentary. But with Viperchain there are soaring guitars, multiple talents in the band, envy inspiring hair, and they don't go overboard on the 'possessed pro-wrestler' singing voice. 😁 I'm getting the impression Viperchain could drag me into the 'core' fold - even if only to the edges - lol, edgecore. 🤣 Will see again.

Aaaand the new single: Evergreen. I really like this.
