Why not? turns out to be a good night
Walked into Dawson's last riff and chorus for the final song of their set. 'Thank you and good night', as I take up my position of preferred watching. :-D OK, it's how I roll. I'm gonna have to live with it! The Bird is probably the fullest I've seen it.
Dawson's keyboardist wears a Panama Patron, flat brim, regular (he says, full of recent knowledge).
OK, Bad Weather rocked. Definitely warmed up to 'em as the set went on. They have a big fanbase. A bunch of teenage merch-shirt wearing dancers near the front of the stage were dancing away and loved by the band. The crowd were singing along - knew all the songs, even the ones the band thought were less popular. This could be their last gig, but methinks they'll be back, in some form or other. The shout out to their manager was nice.

CNTR appear to be more electronic than their singles would suggest. Everyone in the band has a keyboard, except the drummer. Who needs to be in their rock comfort zone. Aciiiid, man. :-D Actually not bad, except when they slowed it right down. One song - "the next one's not a song" - was yuck (sorry guys, but it was), but (after 5 minutes) became the intro to a song that was orders of magnitude better. Lead guitarist/keys has some stage persona. He'll be around for a while. Maybe in Another World is a good song - I'm assuming the title - I videoed it.

The Bird wanted to go home early! They called last drinks with three songs to go. That had the crowd empty the floor mid-set to top up before closing and actually dampened the night a bit. Made up for that by doing my rounds in Northbridge. Ended up a really good night given I wasn't expecting much. I liked it enough to go a bit mad with the videoing.
