II - Chapter 4

Overall chapter impression:

I thought I'd worked out what was going on at the end of Chapter 3. Nope.

Notes: (commentary and/or scribble I wrote to look at/up later)

Ok, who's still here? We'll see if you're still here after para 1. heheheh. ... but it was foreshadowed at the end of ch. 3

... Also, I bet we gonna drop 'C' bombs by the end of this

Who is this Bloom guy? and why does he have zero taste? (he likes tangy kidneys and liver)

Icy cold light? Ok.

... a bit peckish? He's just eaten

Pussens? Really?

Oh, wow. Stamps are new

I remember thinking that about the sun. Time is not the same as the representation of time.

Turko, again. Is this a same time, different place scenario?

Bloom knows Simon (not Steve) Daedalus.

What happened to Aitcheyejay? And 'Kelomen'? Nahh, kaelemen.

Inishbofin. I get it, I think

Mine. Sleeve Bloom: icoat

Vigorous hips ... oh, it might be a thing.

And there it is ... 'Grey sunken cunt of the world'!

Bannon from chapter 1 and Bloom's daughter ...

They were oddly mature at 15 back then

Come, come pussy. Come. Heheheh

Hope the maid is watching out for blackbirds

He really doesn't want people to read the book, does he?

Tabloid of cascara Sagrada. Nice double entendre.

Silly season. Isn't it June?

Why was that chapter so much easier to read? Was I skipping/skimming?

Stuff I don't get:

Flabby gush of Porter. These words don't make sense next to each other. The strong smell of port after barrels have been disturbed? or something?

Mirror in the hat. Sex breaking out. How does the symptom lead to the conclusion? What is with keeping stuff in hats? Didn't they have pockets?

And, in conclusion:

So there's two main characters - at least until the next part. And they know (of) each other at least.
